2023 Outlook: Insights into the Year Ahead
What’s ahead in 2023? We’ve been getting mixed messages about Hawai‘i's economic outlook for 2023. Can employers find enough quality employees to operate profitably at high service levels? Will Hawai‘i’s natural appeal be enough to compete successfully in the emerging post-COVID-19 global travel marketplace with pent-up domestic demand already spent, rising travel prices, a potential U.S. economic slowdown, persistent staffing and supply chain challenges, foreign exchange rates that favor outbound U.S. travel to Europe and Asia, and the re-opening of international markets? If not, what should be done? Find out how our line-up of experts think it will all sort out. In addition to the annual economic and tourism forecasts, this year’s forum features a panel of restaurant, retail and attractions representatives; and an update on Hawai‘i’s air service outlook.
